Mozilla funded multiple full time developers for years. While not a “big” company, it does have significant financial resources and creates a very impactful product.
There are examples of rising languages that never had such corporate sponsorship, like Zig and Julia, but I actually can't think of one as successful as Rust/Go/Swift/etc.?
