My most productive days are when I delete code. Do you think they calculated absolute values, or would I be at the bottom with -50,000 LOC?

It's also the best part of software engineering. The only thing I love more than deleting other people's code is deleting my own code.

Deleting 50k lines of code still counts as lines of code changed...

I'm the most productive 10x software engineer ever: I just fixed CRLF inconsistencies on several large code bases. Literally touched every line on hundreds of files.

Next up: fixing the arbitrarily mixed tabs and spaces.

And make sure the newline/whitespace convention changes often.

I just deleted a bit over 76,000 files in one of our repos. GitHub shows it as "Infinity files changed", and refuses to display even a list of the files.

The most productive days are before that when you're finding the unnecessary code. Deleting it is just the victory lap

Random number generator for who was fired would probably have worked better than this debacle

Ig Noble prize of 2011 was awarded for showing a similar effect: promoting at random is better than promoting on merit.

So it's probably true.

I love deleting large swaths of code, and binning source files.

I'm busy reducing the number of screens my app requires, and that is not easy.

I'd be pushing for your bonus if you were on my team and had -50,000 LOC contributed
