I didn’t go to business school, so I missed the part where egging on your big corporate business partners was the best way to build trust. Maybe he really is trying to make twitter the official Parler/truth social/Gab?

If he ends up running this as a loss leader for the influence, where does the money come from with $1 billion a year in interest payments.

My theory? Musk “won capitalism” and now he’s just bored and seeing how far he can get by fucking with it.

I never used Twitter, but did read a little of this thread for kicks.

There are several posts from different users that are identical, like:

"Musk spent $44 Billion on Twitter. The World's population is 8 billion. He could have given each person $5 billion and still have money leftover. I feel like a cheque for $5 billion would be life changing for most people. Yet he wasted it all on Twitter"

It seems pretty stupid that a platform allows an identical post. Don't need much AI to prevent that. Who wants to read the same posts over and over?

It’s a meme, people repost and retweet it. Whether memes are funny is an exercise left to the reader but they are certainly popular.
