Twitter Employees Watch Emails to See If They Have a Job

This does not seem to me to be a responsible way to manage a firm and retain the most competent and talented employees.

He posted a woe-is-me tweet this morning. He seems to miss the “sometimes it’s the what, often it’s the how” POV on shitstorms.

Who said the richest man on earth was a responsible person? As long as he find enough idiots and opportunists who iron out the details all is well from his point of view.

It is interesting to note that these Twitter employees were served "non-working notice"; not fired, not laid-off.

This only means that Twitter, Inc. is on the hook for at most 60 days worth of backpay wages (notably in the strictest labor law state, California).

there doesn't appear to be much sanity. my money says ops will be hit the hardest because they "write the least code"

I'm not sure about this. Twitter operation expenses are $3B on $5B revenue. They'll have to cut significantly the operational expenses and some these will be engineers.
