Gotta be a real morale booster for those that are left...
I am just guessing, but after watching Elon operate other businesses from the sideline I would suggest this is the expected behavior. Turn the screws on employees until those not aligned with his work ethic leave on their own rather than having to document a just cause. Then bring in trusted people from other Elon operated companies that want change and some challenge. If people leave on their own there is less risk of legal challenges. But I could be entirely off base.
Hacker News top search result for "Twitter", from two years ago:
Twitter Will Allow Employees to Work at Home Forever
Wondering if any other companies will follow suit.
Seems like the first thing to ask yourself there why this is happening at Twitter and if that same situation applies to the company in question.
This is what people should really be scared of. It's one thing to point at Musk and say he's crazy and ruining Twitter. But if Musk fires 50% of the workforce, removes full-time WFH as an option, removes mental health days, etc., and Twitter actually does do a complete turnaround from a bumbling social media company into an advertising powerhouse... what does that mean for the rest of the industry?
