Although I find the strictness of Rust quiet heavy from what I have seen on person and heard I can say without a doubt that it produces an environment where the amount of bugs are simply lesser.

So for that reason I really do believe it has a spot on low level programming in critical system components.

I like how Rust finally created a real alternative to C for lower level hardware programming, something that most new languages don't seem interesting in touching.

That said, does anyone know if Rust is actually used in any modern embedded devices?

The official Rust website has a page[0] with some quotes from companies using it in sensors and some other things.

Naturally, most companies won't be too outspoken about how they write their proprietary software.

At Oxide Computer Company we are using Rust at all levels of the stack except the front end of our web interfaces. From “boot up the CPU” to firmware to our root of trust to our bmc equivalent. And more, but then you’re not in embedded land anymore.

There’s other examples too. Automotive seems to be taking a large interest…
