As someone who uses they/them pronouns I always find this article to be a bit misguided,

I'm not going to get angry about it, or lose any sleep, I just think RMS has a naive understanding in this domain and is overly confident in his conclusions.

Some people use it/its pronouns. Has Stallman commented on that?

These one is interesting. They're used for things, and animals.

People are just animals, after all. These pronouns recognize that fact.

Some people do choose to apply it/its to themselves.

A pronoun that is widely used for centuries and would be perfect for the he task ? Better invent some instead
