A suitably advanced civilization might be able to genetically re-engineer their bodies with live longer, and in more exotic environments.

They may also go the cyborg route and have mechanical appendages to their bodies, rather than replace their bodies entirely.

They may also be able to do things like put their bodies in a state of hibernation during interstellar travel.
