Even beside that, the very fact of publishing this has probably made it dramatically less likely that he will even be nominated, assuming he would be otherwise considered. (If he’d decline, why bother? Not even to Send a Message™, just as a practical matter.)
They won't have a choice, not that I care about some dumb prize. But they'd be quite the laughingstock to ignore this.
