1500+ words, and the word "customer" appears only twice, and counting users as "customers". The word "trust" appears nowhere in the article.

Sure, cut headcount, cut spend, whatever. But FB's long history of fucking its "customers" out of their privacy, autonomy, etc... is surely a component of why that growth hit the wall, and why some people will never don metaverse goggles.

Cynical me thinks this advice to Mr. Z is not about the customer, their happiness or enjoyment. The subtext here, to me, is just about Mr. Gerstner being pissed that Meta is losing him money. So. Whatever.

This dude is a shareholder, not a customer. He wants his spreadsheet not red.

Boy, I didn't think anything would get me to cheer on Zuckerberg and this metaverse BS but then I read this article. So many words just to say "halp I'm losing money".

Personally I'd rather see Meta dead than "getting fit", but that's just me.
