The CoffeeScript of TypeScript

* as much as I want to have gradual typing, TypeScript isn't it for a number of reasons, the principal one being that I want to have a type system that is good for both compile time and run time; in case I can have only one of the two, I opt for run time checks. This of course, is not the fault of this project. Another factor with TypeScript is the fact that some folks have described it as too much of a pain to work with (while others seem to enjoy it). At any rate, I'd then have two transpilers stacked on top of each other and, frankly, working with a single transpiler and sourcemaps is already enough of a hassle.
* Civet is littered with small incompatibilities to CoffeeScript. Going through that extensive list of what is different, I cannot imagine myself to put in the substantive amount of work needed to migrate, even with the compatibility options turned on. So maybe, another day, I'll give it a spin, but beyond that I'm afraid I'm sorry...
