I note other sites are publishing photos, so I've added mine to the blog post. In general, photos are discouraged as the Russians use them to calibrate missile fire.

I walked down to the impact site and took some photos, and added a second blog post with the photos.

There's general advice from Twitter that "Please don't post until Ukrainian officials" since the enemy could use these pictures to refine targeting.

Yes. I posted only after I saw other media outlets already doing the same (in fact, I saw the site doing so here on HN).

How is the general situation right now? I hope you're fine and safe.

Thankyou :-) I'm fine. Kyiv is 300 square kilometers in size. I may currently have a couple more kilos than I want, but I'm still relatively tiny :-) the chances of me, or of any one individual, being hit are minute.

The situation is, mmm, unaffected, I think is the word.

Emergency services are clearing up the mess, everyone else gets on with their day. The nearby shops and buildings are putting up boards over their broken windows, and if you were not directly affected, nothing's different, you know?

Everyone already knows what they think about Putin, so that doesn't change, and you get on with life. I've got programming to get on with, swimming will have to wait till later once the air raid warnings have lifted (the pool is closed during). I need to buy some replacement chocolate, though. I keep a bunch of very nice chocolate slabs (from Lviv Chocolates), and take a couple with me whenever I go out; anyone who speaks English, and by doing so makes my life much easier, get a chocolate thankyou :-) I took them all down to the impact site and handed them out to the emergency workers.
