I would be okay with the world's various militaries testing their space weapons on these advertising satellites.

They might as well go around spray painting trees and dying lakes and rivers their company colours if we allow this.

It used to be exciting spotting a satellite flying over. Now it happens so very often it's reached 'meh' level. It's not worth looking them up on Skies Above anymore, because you have to scroll through a list of 30 to try and figure out which one you saw. Turning them into ads is going to make sky watching a historical memory, since we'd be going from 'meh' to irate annoyance of their existence and intrusion into our lives.

If ever there was a case for 'killer satellites', this is it! I can't believe the origin of this story is actually one of the companies proposing to do this. And leading the article with a bragging "Ad-block this: Space advertisers ready to display commercials in the sky"
