Ask HN: How do you typically go about finding a new job?
Any preferred website, and what don't you like about the process? Or do you usually rely on your network?
For my next role I'm thinking of cold emailing companies I'd like to work at to see if that approach works better.
That was going to be my exact answer. That's worked for me the last couple of times. I might also have sent one or two submissions that I initiated, but typically I get swamped with messages from recruiters, so not much work needed on that end.
Good advice! Can probably be applied to a great many things in life.
