Is There a Limit to Wind Turbine Size?

This is from "Engineering with Rosie". Rosie's thesis was on wind turbines.

TL;DW:-

On-shore, transport can impose practical limits to size.

Off-shore, it's a race between manufacturability/maintainability (smaller is less awkward, can use cheaper materials) versus minimising overhead costs (wiring, etc.). Off-shore sizes still trending up.
