> I was raised by artists and surrounded with the brilliant works they created. Every time I look at the modern crypto landscape, it makes me shiver a little bit. It feels like it’s maybe trying to kill pure art and expression and replace it with the version of capitalism its critics always warned of.
So proclaims the tech bro who won't pay or credit digital artists and instead credits 'Midjourney' by using an AI generated image and then wonders why artists are having to turn to working with and selling NFTs; in effect, them (tech bros) being part of the problem and accelerating the replacement of artists which they shrug at since it doesn't affect them.
As always, technologists and tech bros always grifting on 'open-source' things and whatever they can get for free, and will only complain when it affects them as they themselves are creating another dystopian world view for the tech companies they work at to exploit even more from artists which the technologists and tech bros will never admit their grifting.
