why can't we code for web in just literally one language both for frontend and backend, we do it for making mobile/desktop apps, so why is coding for web so complex?

Because there's so many variables and so many use cases that one size fits all would instantly spawn variations.

Because many people are contrarians.

Because path dependent evolution.
