I'm surprised Musk didn't roll out a new company to create Optimus. Bit of a kick in the teeth to people who have paid for the FSD

Don’t hold you breath… once Tesla said it would make a snake robot to automatically plug in the car at night, but that never came to market.

And FSD is still not full. So what limited use case is this robot for? Boston Dynamics doesn’t seem to sell that many of theirs. Maybe Elon wants to send them to space.

Advertising.

Musk's advertising strategy with Tesla has been to keep telling a bigger lie. Telsa's full self-driving is neither full nor self. FSD doesn't work right. But that doesn't matter because the lie sure works. People keep buying in even after 9 years of false promises:

The Tesla bot is just the next lie. It doesn't matter if it never works right. It doesn't matter if it is perpetually "one year away". People will buy in, just like they did with FSD.

Your tone makes me think I wasn’t quite understood - saying he will send them to space was a joke. This is vapor for press. I got that.
