The new “Intel Processor” will replace Pentium and Celeron CPU branding in 2023

Am I missing something? This sounds a bit ridiculous. Is it not as confusing as labeling a new line of low end Nvidia cards; Nvidia Graphics, or instead of Microsoft Windows Home we could have Windows OS? Ford could replace the Ford F-150 with Ford Truck.

Everything new becomes old. Everyone might not like the names Pentium or Celeron now, but in the future we can all not like Intel Processor.

That seems like short-sighted marketing.

Every year they are making it harder for consumers to distinguish performance by changing how versions are called. Seems like Intel will soon completely obfuscate their CPU naming, since Intel is loosing competition to AMD they are cowardly turning to the lowest tactics.

Sounds like a great way to tank the company name instead of merely a model name, next time Intel shits the bed with a backdoor security issue, or FDIV bug, or other big-time screwup. Might as well name the company Footbullet at this rate.

This is cargo cult marketing behavior. Apple has had great success with "Apple Silicon", so surely "Intel Processor" will help replicate that success.

> The word "Processor" has a capital P so that you don't confuse an Intel Processor with an Intel processor.

So Intel Processor is just Intel processor?!

No, it should be “Intel’s processor”, since Intel is not an adjective.

So finally they are able to compute 486 + 100 with the brand new “Intel Processor”. Amazing.

So do you want the Aladeen processor, or the Aladeen processor?
