What they do not see: google/apple/microsoft(galaxy of vanguard and blackrock funds) actually won. Administrative web sites all over EU are more and more requiring google financed blink/geeko or apple financed webkit (including SDK) web engines.

hard truth: many if not nearly all administrative web sites (and not administrative) should work out-of-the-box with noscript/basic (x)html browsers. This is the only sane way to go until we get a web which can be reasonably coded by a small teams of individuals or individuals with reasonable efforts in time, namely a javascript engine, with ultra reduced/minimal/"sandboxed" OS services like APIs.

The vanguard/blackrock galaxy of big tech knows perfectly that the grotesque and absurd complexity and size of their web engines provide the perfect setup to destroy any alternative made by small teams of individuals or individuals.

Fining them is only one aspect, resisting tantrums of EU web devs to force users into google and apple software without any reasonable alternative way out is another one.
