New AirPods Pro Do Not Support Lossless Apple Music

frankly i don’t think it matters. obviously this is entirely subjective, but i can only really tell the difference between 256kbps mp3 vs flax if i directly a/b. 320kbps AAC is pretty much transparent to human ears, not only can i not tell which one is lossless, on anything other than pure white noise i straight up cannot tell the difference

Who cares? Don’t expect high quality audio from consumer products.

Get a pair of good wired in-ear monitors or full blown headphones if you want/need high resolution audio.

AirPods = convenience, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Supporting lossless would be nominal only, these are in-ear headphones, the fit alone would produce more drastic audio shaping.

I think one just needs to be realistic about how these things are used.

Clearly the other commenters have not actually done side by side comparisons of Bluetooth audio codecs. It's night and day. Most lossy Bluetooth codecs are absolutely terrible and it's not a matter of subjective perception. It's extremely noticeable if you know what to look for, and you can't unhear it.

I’d much rather them focus on LE Audio over lossless. The battery impact will be more valuable to most consumers than the quality difference, I expect.

If you want to listen to music at maximum quality, you really ought to get a set of speakers or cans with a larger driver than these.
