What's the longterm prognosis? Is this more about the rise of Indian Middle classes and overall GDP and disposable income, or the fall of the UK as a function of brexit and Tory mismanagement?

Broadly, it seems like both--India on the rise and the UK on the decline

The Indian rise is probably irreversible because it includes components of development which not even recession will negate. But the British slump is reversible somewhat.

I don't personally like an economy hollowed out to fintech and IPR, with a huge service industry of underclass workers especially in health. So, I suppose I'm harking after some industry and manufacturing. Anyway, the size of the British economy could grow, somewhat. I'd be amazed if the Indian economy shrank even relatively: China has more hollowing out to come from the property market crash.
