Indeed. Requiring me to pay $35 or whatever just to have a bunch of contractors call me and haggle over the phone isn't useful.

I much prefer Redbeacon's approach: Download the iPhone app, take a few pictures, and let the providers send you concrete prices.

Lists are dead, Angie's is a dinosaur, Redbeacon is giving the power to the people.

IPO one week. Dead the next. So much for Angieslist.
