Someone entered an art competition with an AI-generated piece and won

The big question is, how would anyone ever know if any piece was created by an AI? Art competitions will need to adapt or disappear.

The diamond market is going through a similar situation where synthetic diamonds are undistinguishable from natural diamonds. The market has been affected. Synthetic diamonds take effort but AI art takes very little. So is the art market and art as a whole going to be completely changed?

I don't think this was even a thought when AI started to gain traction a few years ago.
