It's quite ironic that a drug which has no documented direct fatalities in history is seen as a dangerous, experimental therapy in the public conscience, while a drug which causes 14,000 deaths per year in the United States alone is seen as the safe and reasonable choice for responsible adults. How simple drug policy would be if we only calculated the numbers!
I don't think the public conscience thinks that, but maybe we are in different cultures.
To be commenting on HN is to be in an open-minded, experimental subculture. I would not describe the average American as exceptionally open-minded and experimental. The average person is by definition not exceptional in any ways. The proof is in the pudding: If psychedelic drugs were seen as safe, effective and fun by most Americans we wouldn't continue to have prohibition because Congress would have overturned those laws.
Maybe because while you’re shrooming the very thought of alcohol is like poison.
Idk about anyone else but I feel so repulsed that I won’t drink for weeks after a trip
