First Rest-Frame Optical Obs of Galaxy at Z3 with JWST in Smacs 0723 Field

They look at redshifted galaxies. Previous Hubble data showed less & less sphereoid & spiral/disk galaxies at high redshift/far ago galaxies. JWST makes it clear that many of thr more abnormal, hard to discern galaxies are spiral galaxies.

One of the main conclusion is that it may be possible that galaxies like the milky way have retained their shape for 12b years plus, where-as before there was more belief that galactic structures would have had more tendency to change.
