1M square ft. of L.A. roads are being covered with solar-reflective paint

One million square feet may sound like a lot, but it's hardly anything. For an eight lane highway at 12 ft per lane, plus two additional lanes' worth of shoulder, that's only a ~8,333 ft length of road.

1000000 / (12 * 10) = 8333.3 (repeating of course)

The parking lot of Dodger Stadium looks to be about 6M square feet, and would probably last a lot longer than a road where vehicles regularly friction at speed.
