Maybe aggregators. So long as it's a square joint, and there's human moderation with criterio, can't translate that word really, means judgment, but special kind. Something like independent thinking and unhackability. Like what? Like here, really. And even then it shoots its own credibility in the foot with the first word, "Hacker" in "Hacker News". Even journalists are now aware "hacker" for "cracker" is derogatory.[1] In the newsroom. In New York Times for one.
Hey and it even owns hackernews.com now. That's good cred[ibility].
[1] Although "cracker" is already a slur for European Americans so it's saturated...but different. And the whole thing with slurs is it's about [thought-controlling, provoking, accusing and blaming but at any rate brutally] policing European Americans. It est [i.e. or ie] whites. Like myself. Not sure this gets flagged without me saying "flagged". Even then, who knows. Like even in court this one woman was arguing she wasn't a terrorist judge had to haul her to the curb quoting a terrorist tweet promoting genocide of whites. Even then it didn't completely close the case, just a hiccup in her tempo. That's it, nothing happens.
The fact is that many people in Japan are questioning the role the church plays in politics. This wouldn’t have happened without the assasination: https://time.com/6204978/japans-kishida-dumps-ministers-with...
No amount of work Abe did with the church justifies his murder.
These articles strike me more as an attempt to curtail the sympathy votes that Abe's party is getting as a result of the assassination.
It's the worst kind of political sleaze.
The author is (correctly) more concerned with what the assassination means for the ultra-nationalists within the LDP and here even your provided AP article quotes agreeingly:
"This could be a turning point” for the LDP over its divisive policies on gender equality, same-sex marriages and other issues that Abe-backed ultra-conservatives with paternalistic family values had resisted, said Mitsuru Fukuda, a crisis management professor at Nihon University."
Abe was a singularly important figure for the hardline wing of the party and his death is not going to benefit them internally. The most important aspect of that Unification Church story is the association with South Korea, it's hard to imagine anything more embarrassing for Japanese nationalists than be associated with a South Korean cult.
What really is the point of the article anyway? Abe wasn't perfect so he deserves to be murdered? The assassin had a good point? Really?
Maybe we should start seeing articles about the OKC bombing next.
At this point I wouldn‘t be surprised if people started to forgot who the murderer is, while continuing to be deeply pissed at the wave of revelations around the cult ties in the political sphere.
