aren't airdrop and icloud supposed to be encrypted, if so, how did they know what he transferred on there..
He was presumably using a company laptop which would have who knows how much monitoring. I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple tracks every file you airdrop from a company machine.

That just means they can’t sniff anything in transit. If the laptop is managed by Apple (they were an Apple employee) they have full access to an endpoint.
