Ask HN: What were Gates and Allen's original assumptions about software?
I have searched for such a long time for this, but cannot find it. Curious if anyone knows? I recall Bill and Paul wrote some kind of memo back near the beginning of Microsoft as to why they felt software so special and how it could change the world. It was their core assumption list for why Microsoft would succeed.
Does anybody have a link to that list of points? My co-founders and I are trying to make a similar list of core assumptions for our startup, and I wanted to draw from Microsoft's original list for some nostalgia inspiration. :)
