These pictures evoked simultaneous feelings of nostalgia and intense pride of how far we've come. Thanks to the labor of people like us, we're in a world replete with technological marvels. My thanks to those who came before, and I pray that we continue to face tomorrow with the same kind of optimism that brought us what we have today.

The photo quality is quite high so they seem to have been taken relatively recently, but definitely deliver the nostalgic vibes from before. There were definitely a lot of floppies involved.

What is our current equivalent going to be?

Good image quality can tell you very little regarding when an image was taken so long as the image has been properly preserved and digitized.

I guess whatever removable media is available at the time.

SD cards and USB sticks are definitely still around, but dwindling in numbers due to wireless replacements and seamless transfer systems like 'cloud-backup' and hyper-link sharing.

regrettably they're not usually as aesthetic or CDs/MDs/hard-drive platters.

A PCB that is populated with a lot of flash is pretty high-tech looking, though.

lately i've seen lots of stock photos for 'technology' that include lots of lab equipment and cryonic style stuff that looks like it belongs in a quantum computing lab of some sort, maybe that's the new theme.[0]

I use BNC connectors almost daily, and that have been around for almost 80 years.
