Watching skilled operators use these machines can be really cool, too. There's show off stunts where they do jenga and climb towers with excavators, and many operators have gotten a buddy to help them demonstrate knocking a cigarette out of a mouth or putting a hat on somebody.

It's a real treat, tho, to watch a good crew reshape land the way a child reshapes a sandbox. An excavator and bulldozer team with a good working rhythm can do some astounding things and surprisingly quickly. A team with the equipment but without the know how can flail uselessly at the same dirt and never accomplish anything.
