Why Polio (Poliomyelitis), Once Nearly Eradicated, Is Rebounding

The YouTube video here[0] by the guy who first sequenced the polio genome and who studied it his whole career is pretty enlightening.

There’s a lot of breathless reporting about polio but he’s not surprised it’s circulating because the oral polio vaccine strain is replication competent and the inactivated vaccine doesn’t prevent gut infection (no vaccines prevent infection. They prevent disease).

Interesting. I was expecting some mention of the fake CIA vaccination program that undermined the efforts to eradicate the virus.
