Open-source tools (dbt, Airbyte, etc.) have taken over the "modern data stack", but one piece (the data warehouse) was still commonly occupied by closed-source software (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.). I think Clickhouse has a real shot at becoming the open-source choice for this part of the stack. We've been using it at Luabase and despite some of it's rough edges, it's truly an incredible product.
