Anyone have a link to the full article? I’d like to read why folks will presumably need to be audited for selling over 600$ on eBay and not having a reasonable way to itemize that.
The actual article is a photo essay about the extremely antiquated document/data processing systems at the IRS and seems unlikely to address your particular concern. Taking a hyped-up edge case as a synecdoche for the system as a whole doesn't usually lead to a worthwhile discussion.
