That makes sense. But then still, why not have something in say KY or WV? Plenty of chicken houses and stuff along the east coast, and they tend to be temperature sensitive. And there's still the human housing market there too.
Iowa is #1 by far in the US in laying hens and hogs (23M each). Minnesota is #1 for turkeys (48M). KY and WV aren't anywhere close to these numbers.
Judging by the photos, my guess is these buildings wouldn't appeal to homeowners. The architectural style is too different.
I thought there are quite a few in NC, VA, and others in the area.
