The Language You Speak Influences Where Your Attention Goes

Well worth to learn another language because they often contain peculiarities about how other cultures describe the world, but to suggest that language determines thought is a bit exaggerated in my opinion. Very often it is just vocabulary for communication, even if said communication is full of subtext.
Of course there are trivial examples where the headline is true. Using a more precise term can channel attention to details that my have been overlooked with a more general expression. That eye movements could be influence by parsing language could be true, but I don't believe this can qualify as a different thought pattern and the eye movements probably only happen in the absence of attention to visual stimuli.
