This stuff just works® on Linux. It has so many features and I never heard anyone about it when I gave it a try, so I assumed that it would be somewhat broken, but no. Pleasant surprise. One of the nice features is that when you are connected and some firefox tab is playing a video or audiostream, your phone shows you a view of the video and the controls to pause it or alter the volume. I am really happy with the maturity of today's Linux on the desktop, and KDE Connect is a nice bonus. Super stable, feature rich, power user friendly, well integrated, zero spying and data theft. We live in great times.

Can't send anything from my laptop to my One Plus 6. I wanted to copy music and it didn't work. I use the cable and it took a long time.

It works before a year ago, but that now, it didn't. I don't give up, since I still use the app.

Strange, I just love KDE but I've never got this thing to work properly. I'll give it another try.

I wanted to use this to copy my Android's clipboard to my Windows clipboard, which it claims to support but didn't. Uninstalled shortly thereafter.

I do this all the time and it works flawlessly. You must have the Clipboard sync turned on (3 dots at top-right > Plugin settings).

1. Copy your text on Android.

2. Swipe down from top and select KDE Connect notification.

3. Choose Send clipboard.

4. Disco.

Windows own "my phone" app supports this. KDE connect does support it at least on linux desktop.

Microsoft's Phone Link app only supports this on some phone models by some phone manufacturers. It might be all Samsungs now I can't remember.

Also, Phone Link uses a non-trivial amount of CPU (~7%) just to stay alive so I torched it with fire as soon as I could.

In my extensive experience, it works flawlessly as advertised on Windows and Linux, but the macOS build is still quite buggy.
