Save the Soil

He is commoditizing soil and has found a new way to make money.
For those who really worry about soil and the facts spoken or presented by him, it is a total garbage and it done purely as a publicity stunt so that people will start buying the so called blessed soil from him (??).
Buying the blessed soil (whose soil is it anyway?) will save the soil from degrading? Poeple get to buy some soil samples blessed (!!??) by this conman and keep it in their homes and expect the soil is saved while he happily walks towards the bank laughing about people's stupidity!!!
Really??
One has to blame everyone in the entire process. Not just the use of chemical fertilizers. Greed driven by demand, corporatization of essential commodities, globalization of govts and pure profit based approach is making the life on this beautiful planet a deteriorating hell! Sooner or later, it will become like the scenes of Wall-E movie where people abandon the planet and start to wander around for a better quality of life albeit with some differences.
The propaganda should have been to stop using chemicals and pesticides, move towards organic method of farming and educating people about sustainable living and introducing technology guidance, reducing dependencies and a changed economic models... But it all sounds like Utopian wishes and might never come true on this godforsaken planet with the current set of population and people's mindset...
HN is a fantastic community with great minds wandering across multitude of topics and I hope they don't buy into this BS!!!
Leaving aside whether you believe what he says, any citations on being a con man? Let alone the biggest con man?
>For those who really worry about soil and the facts spoken or presented by him, it is a total garbage and it done purely as a publicity stunt so that people will start buying the so called blessed soil from him (??).
Oh wow. That seems like the biggest publicity stunt, then , no? If heads of state are buying into this, this must be a very sophisticated plan.

I didn't see a buy link in the web archive (the link is HN'ed), but perhaps you could enlighten us what you think he does with the money?
> educating people about sustainable living and introducing technology guidance, reducing dependencies and a changed economic models
You hit the nail on the head. This article seems to be about educating people about sustainable living and the dangers we humans pose to nature. Geniunely curious , what exactly are you so upset about? Sadhguru's teachings ? His article? Hidden agendas ?
If you have enough money and political support, you could pretty much do anything in this world!

This is a bizzare assertion that's trivially disproved. Just searching for 'environment' on Newslaundry brings up articles hilighting environmental destruction and advocating conservation:

It's Jaggi Vasudev who is a fucking charlatan.
That implies an 8x increase in costs, I heard in the past few days (cannot remember the source now).
So: realistically - i.e. taking into consideration game theory on political and economical [game] rules?
The guy is right (I know nothing about the guy himself): if the current trend continues we're left with desertation. We need soil - producing agriculture and the current one is soil - destroying. It doesn't need to be economically viable in itself. It could be subsidized for common interest by the public sector.
- Children should not be vaccinated for flu[0]
- Depression is caused by overeating and lack of exercise[1]
- Mercury can be solidified by energizing it and is not toxic[2]
- Food turns to poison during an eclipse[3]
- Cancer is not a disease[4]
Like Save the Rivers and Cauvery Calling this is yet another PR campaign by Jaggi Vasudev.

Does anyone have any good resources talking about how dangerous this organisation actually is that I can use to persuade my company to stop associating with them? Some Googling came up with [0] and [1]
Also, what are some options for good organisations for us to pivot to? I don’t want to see all the genuine conversation energy and excitement by my colleagues go to waste.

[edit] redd-monitor is a bad source, so all the contents of that article should be taken with a huge grain of salt
Odd lapsus.
Leaving this here.
Save the soil by spoiling the elephant corridor and building the ashram.
Save the soil by selling the soil on his website. Fraud Jaggi.
Btw, he hates someone calling him Jaggi.
He wants everyone to address him as Sadhguru... Whatever that means it anyways!!
Shame to the guru word!
