Shite: The little static shite generator from shell

> I accidentally restarted blogging after a long haitus. Before I could get words into the cloud, I muddled about with "modern" Static Site Generators. Because WordPress is so last century (or so I told myself). Then I got annoyed by the SSG Jamstack bespoke templating building etc. magic.
I felt the same way when I restarted my blog so I went a similar route, but... lazier. I'm using pandoc with some shell scripts gluing it all together and it works.. pretty well actually.
> Walking can be distracting in meetings.
Interestingly enough, I have the exact opposite - the more I concentrate on a discussion, the more I have to walk.
This is easy with remote work, I walk in my apartment. People got used to the fact that I suddenly disappear from the video ( a rather good sign :)), I usually do not even realize that I got up.
On the office everyone is seated except for me who is standing up and silently trotting around. Of course I only do it with people who are fine with that.
I find even the most popular ones are often lacking themes. Worse, sometimes they advertise themes but the themes and the SSG dont work together.
When I discovered this I was initially tempted to build my own but then decided I didnt want to be the 301st.
So far ive settled on mkdocs which I like although Ive tried about 5 of the others which I had irritating issues with.
Combining the worst parts of static site user experience[1] with the worst parts of dynamic site administration[2].
[1] None of the potential benefits of a dynamic site, like searching and interactivity (not that they are always needed, but that IS the few things that dynamic sites are actually good for).
[2] Instead of the end-deliverable files, which are forever and have zero dependencies (like a true static site), you get additional infrastructure dependencies like you do on a dynamic site (your generator tool, simple as it may be, still has more dependencies than zero, it is, at the very least, a dependency in and of itself).
No, this just got serious again XD
> I don't have to give a shite if this little shite maker fails to make your shite work.
This only makes sense if they know what "give a shite" means, I think.
