The Russian Economy Is Imploding

Consider the tanks. ① You've seen that Russia is losing tanks in painful numbers, you've seen that so much that you believe it. ② You also believe that the of of the purposes of sanctions is to diminish Russia's ability to produce new tanks and similar weaponry. You may not know what exactly all of the purposes are, but you believe that to be a purpose. ③ You've seen that Russia is taking sixty-year old tanks out of storage, and you haven't read anything about boosting production of new-model tanks.

And you've seen that the ruble is very strong. Some people present that as a boost for the economy, but it's more of a violent shake. Exporters have their income incease drastically, importers have their costs increase equally drastically, both have difficult new non-tariff barriers. This may be described as "encouraging innovation" or perhaps better "innovate or die!!!1!"
