Taxes and other employment “fees” and rules present a problem to companies without apathetic appropriate tax nexus. They’ll make foreign hires of any nationality into contractors to offload the problems wherever possible. Not everybody wants to get to know an accountant that well.

I found it curious that many of the cities were high cost, and it seemed less interesting vs going to where space and population density was more favourable.
