IMO "Ok Boomer" is popular because this is too long for a tweet... The boomer cohort in the US collectively presided over the most prosperous time in human history and took full advantage gorging themselves at the trough of money and power. They've left us with an environment in systemic decay, under performing K12 schools, corrupt and ineffective government, countless trillions in debt, and a deep dependance on fossil fuels and the wars required to secure them. By any serious measure boomers failed at nearly everything besides serving themselves.
