Ask HN: Do you listen to technical content while driving?

1 point·mxmpawn··2 comments

I'm preparing to interview for one of the big software companies. I've to spend some time every week driving to some places and it'd be nice to learn something while at it.

Is this something realistic? do you do it? what kind of podcasts/videos would you suggest?

I teach Computer Support for a living so I need to hear about tech trends from a support and development point of view. I also need to like the style of the presenter if I am going to spend time listening to them for months or years. In no particular order.

Richard Campbell Runas Radio (https://runasradio.com) [Selected Episodes] and Dotnet Rocks (dotnetrocks.com) [Selected Episodes]

Greg Faro Packet Pushers (packetpushers.net) various podcasts [Selected Episodes]

Ed Horley, Scott Hogg, and Tom Coffeen (packetpushers.net/series/ipv6-buzz/

I have a non work side interest in embedded systems programming.

Elecia & Christopher White(embedded.fm)

Dave Jones and Chris Gammell (theamphour.com)

I also watch several Youtube channels that relate to the same topics but not as much as the time spent on the podcast. Most of my podcast time is driving, washing dishes or other house hold chores.

I listen to technical death metal[0] while driving. Keeps me awake, alert, and aggressive.
