25C overnight also causes increased mortality? Every Brisbane summer for the last 20+ years has just entered the chat.

I assume it's because everyone in Brisbane has an A/C, but most people in the UK don't.

You don't need aircon for these temps, a ceiling fan or pedestal fan is sufficient.

40C = 104F

England = £249 = $300 portable AC unit in every supermarket.

Well, can the power grid supply enough energy for 50 million AC units working at the same time?

There is no simple solution for climate change.

Probably, I'm sure we more power in the winter.

Although it's likely they'll be power cuts as grid equipment overheats.

In the middle of a cost of living crisis, with energy prices as high as they are?

Too bad wildlife can't go out and purchase ACs.

Easier said than done. They take up a lot of space when not in use, they are very heavy and unwieldy to move around 2 storeys, the windows we have in the UK are difficult to attach the hoses to.

This. I was reluctant to let my partner buy a second tower fan in Tesco for £30 because in our tiny 2 bed London flat it's a pain in the ass the store them for the 90% of the year they're not needed.

I relented btw. £30 is a small fee to keep the peace

That’s the spirit. The climate’s not gonna change itself!
