Show HN: Logto beta – build universal sign-in, auth, and identity with ease

Nit: calling GitPod a "super easy setup" is misleading. you're not going to use that in anything even close to production. better to say "try it in 1 click" or something that indicates more tentativeness/less production ready setting

Logto is now in public beta. We're working hard on more improvements, SDKs, and connectors. Feel free to drop your comments or needs.

Link to demo please? I grepped both GitHub page and official site for "demo" but came up empty.

How does this compare against existing open source authentication providers like Authelia and Authentik? I've been trying out Authentik and have been pretty impressed with it.

Please keep accessibility in mind when creating forms. I just checked out the demo app and you are using `placeholder` instead of `label`.

I work in a highly regulated industry and I fail to see the benefits of self-hosting identity management in a context of mandatory compliance with GDPR and CCPA.

3rd party vendors relieve companies such as mine from a ton of responsibilities we'd otherwise have to handle and manage associated risks.

Of course, we're the kind of company that think the less code and processes we have to be audited for, for, say, SOC2, the better. Which is pretty much every company, I assume.

Please I'd very much appreciate diverse opinions on that topic.

It's funny, at our company with a very successful 8-figure SaaS we do all our front end as an AngularJS 1.8 SPA. Seeing all this modern javascript tooling and typescript, exports, constructors, classes, etc. makes me cringe for the new developers who have to learn all that hot mess.
