I think the type f (schuko) is better, it has no fuse in the cabel, but you don't have to worry about the side which you put it in and both of the holes where power gets through are usually protected against screwdrivers, there has to be equal pressure to get access to the power. Ground is like the british the first with contact and its hard to pull it out.
For 220v outlets in the US, there are three plug types based on amperage that take the same care to ensure proper grounding.
The US seems to be a little less cautious with 110v/15 amp outlets.
One plug to rule them all. Now that most applicances have power supplies that can automatically adapt to different voltages and 50/60Hz, isn't it about time we standardised on an world plug and socket that everyone can adopt over time and use alongside national standards?
I kind of wonder what the feasibility of using USB C would be - other than the cost. It would be one that could live along side the standard country plugs
what form of USB-C PD is suitable for powering my 2.4kW electric kettle though?
Yeah - along side the standard country plugs. So that your portable electronics work in any country
They're great until you step on one in the middle of he night.
