Ask HN: Does your company offer part-time programming roles?

FYI, a part time job for a programmer is a bad deal for the programmer. Programming is a variable output profession. It's very hard to produce at a high level all the time since you have to solve very different problems on a regular basis. Managers will be expecting an X level of output from you as a part time programmer but you will have less time to think about the solution so to make-up for it you'll be working additional hours for free.

If you want part time look into contracting for defined projects. It's better for every one involved.

Yes, for someone who contribute a very high level while being part-time. As a manager, I’m just looking to move the needle.

There's contractors for that, but it goes through something like Toptal.
