I agree that PHEVs are an important part of the transition away from gasoline, especially in the short term. But it seems if Toyota really believed this, their PHEV Rav4 would be produced in a lot higher numbers. I'm pretty sure they could sell far more of those than they do. Availability is limited to two US states and even within those is quite limited.
And we're still waiting on a hybrid 4Runner or Tacoma.
