A lot of religious ideas fall into this basket, particularly their manifestations in the USA. You could make a strong argument that American televangelists and their ilk killed Christianity in Western Europe.
I'd say that the established Christian institutions of Western Europe mostly killed themselves, with no American televangelical help needed.
